Keeping Neighbors Warm
We are a group of volunteers,
organized in February 2008, that refused to sit by and let our neighbors go without heat because they were down on their luck but failed to meet the income eligibility guidelines required to qualify for traditional assistance programs.

We knew that we could raise the money to help these families if we could draw attention to the problem. We issued press releases to the area papers, produced a public service TV infomercial, designed and distributed posters throughout the 9 communities we are working in, and have made a variety of presentations to local municipalities, clubs, and churches.
Our efforts have been rewarded in the Maine tradition. Companies large and small, clubs and organizations, and individuals have showed their generosity. We have been able to raise over 30% of our $100,000 goal in less than 3 months. More importantly, we were able to help more than 35 families stay safe and warm the past few months.
There is still much work to do to prepare for next winter and we need your support in two ways.
First
Help spread the word that help is, and will be, available for families in need.
Secondly
If you can help support this program financially, please help. All donations are tax deductible, and best of all, no donation is too small or too large!
