Keeping Neighbors Warm

Make a Difference

What YOU Can Do !

There are a number of ways that individuals, groups, and businesses can help make sure that we all make it safely through another tough Maine winter. The most important things we can do is to simply look out for each other.
That being said, it is harder to do than we might think.

Here's a Start:

  • Help an elderly neighbor or someone with a disability to clear the snow from their stairs, walks, and driveways.
  •
  • Make a point to check-in with neighbors everyday or two to make sure they are OK if you haven't seen them out and about.
  •
  • Donate time, food, and money to your local food pantry or soup kitchen.
  •
  • Recycle those warm clothes you'll really never fit back into to a local charity where they can be put to use to keep someone warm.
  • Offer a ride to someone too scared to drive in the winter to get groceries at their local market, or perhaps, even offer to do their shopping for them.

I'm sure you will find many more ways to make a difference once you think about it.

We are determined that they will have a warm place to sleep and not go to bed hungry.

See how you can help!

It never has to get this bad
if we care for our neighbors

We need to solve the smaller issues
now so they don't grow into crisis.

Sharing With Those Less Fortunate:

Being cold is not just uncomfortable, it can be dangerous to the elderly, ill, and small children. Being forced to choose between buying groceries, medication, rent or mortgage, or fuel to heat your home is tough. Those of us that do not face those choices have a responsibility to assist others less fortunate.

Keeping Neighbors Warm
has a basic mission to provide local assistance professionals the ability to help individuals and families that genuinely are in need of assistance to heat their homes. Too many families fail to meet the eligibility guidelines established by governmental programs because the thresholds are too low. We are determined to make sure they can at least stay warm.

If you agree with our mission and are in a position to help, we ask that you do.
